Why Hialeah Students Take This Course

We teach this class in Spanish regularly, and for a first-time shooter that matters more than it might sound. The first hour is safety rules and how a firearm works — the exact material where you need to be able to ask a precise question and get a precise answer, not nod along.

Hialeah is home to our force-on-force facility, which makes it the one city where we run a fixed weekly session — every Monday from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM.

It is also one of the most Spanish-speaking cities in the United States, and a large share of our Hialeah students train in Spanish. That is not an accommodation we bolt on; it is simply how a lot of our classes run.

What the Course Covers

  • The four universal safety rules, enforced from minute one
  • How a firearm actually works, and how to load and unload it
  • Clearing a malfunction
  • Grip, stance, sight alignment, sight picture
  • Trigger control — the skill that separates good shooters from the rest
  • Dry practice until the motions stop requiring thought
  • Live fire, close and slow, accuracy before speed

Where and When

Our outdoor Homestead range · 4 hours (1 PM – 5 PM).

From Hialeah it is about a 40-minute drive south. Give yourself margin: classes start on time and the safety briefing is not something you can join halfway through.

We train outdoors deliberately. An outdoor range lets us teach drawing from a holster, moving between positions, shooting from behind cover, and working after dark — almost no indoor range in Miami-Dade permits any of it. More about the range.

What to Bring

  • Eye and ear protection (mandatory)
  • Pants or shorts with a real belt (mandatory)
  • Closed-toe shoes or boots — no sandals or crocs
  • A firearm and ammunition if you own one; tell us if you do not
  • Water, hat, sunscreen, and mosquito repellent
  • A shirt with a high neckline — hot brass is unforgiving

Frequently Asked Questions

Where do Hialeah students take first-time shooter class?
Training runs at our outdoor Homestead range, about a 40-minute drive south from Hialeah.
How much is first-time shooter class near Hialeah?
$175 per person. Call 786-314-0471 for the next available date.
I have never touched a gun. Is this really for me?
Yes. The course assumes zero prior knowledge and no live ammunition is present until the second half of the class.
Does shooting a gun hurt?
No. Recoil from a standard handgun is a firm push rather than pain. Most first-time shooters are surprised by how manageable it is.
What if I panic and want to stop?
You set the firearm down on the bench pointed downrange and step back. That is a completely acceptable outcome and nobody makes an issue of it.
Do I need to buy a gun first?
No — and we recommend the opposite. Take the class, shoot under instruction, then buy based on what actually fits your hand.
