Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers about training, licensing, pricing, and what to expect.

The questions below cover the things people ask us most: what the Florida concealed carry class costs, whether you need a permit at all, what to bring, and which class to take first. If yours is not here, call 786-314-0471 or email info@360tacticalmiami.com and we will answer it directly.

Getting Started

I have never touched a firearm. Where do I start?

The Introductory Course ($175, four hours). It assumes zero prior knowledge, starts with safety and how a firearm works before any live ammunition is present, and finishes with supervised live fire. You do not need to own a gun.

Should I take the concealed carry class or a shooting class first?

Either order works. The CWL class is $50 and two hours and covers Florida law plus the state training requirement. The Introductory Course is where you actually learn to shoot. If your goal is to carry competently, you want both — the license is the legal step, the range time is the competence step.

Do I need to own a firearm to take a class?

No. Many students do not own one yet. Tell us when you register and we will sort it out for the session.

Do you teach in Spanish?

Yes. Classes are taught in English and Spanish — let us know your preference when you register.

Are classes beginner friendly?

The CWL class, Introductory Course, ladies-only training, and private instruction all are. Low-light and night training are explicitly for experienced shooters only, and the Intermediate and Advanced courses have prerequisites.

Florida Concealed Carry

Do I still need a permit to carry in Florida?

Florida allows lawful concealed carry without a license for eligible residents, but a Florida Concealed Weapon License still carries real benefits — most importantly reciprocity with other states. See our full explanation in Do you still need a concealed carry permit in Florida?

How much is the concealed carry class?

$50 per person for the two-hour class, plus $30 if you want fingerprints taken on-site. See the full price list.

Is your class recognized by the State of Florida?

Yes. The course is recognized by the State of Florida as fulfilling the training requirement to apply for a Concealed Weapon License. You receive a certificate of completion along with a package of instructions and forms for the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.

How do I actually apply for the license after the class?

We give you the application package and instructions at the end of class. The step-by-step version is in our guide: How to get your Florida concealed weapon license.

Do I need to register in advance for the CWL class?

No — you can register at the door at any listed location. See the class schedule for upcoming dates.

Where can I not carry, even with a license?

Florida law lists a number of prohibited locations regardless of license status. We cover them in class and in our guide on where you cannot legally carry in Florida.

Classes, Gear & Logistics

What do I need to bring?

At minimum: eye and ear protection, pants or shorts with a real belt, and closed-toe shoes or boots. No sandals or crocs. Full list in what to bring to your first firearms class.

Where are classes held?

Live fire is at the Homestead Training Center. Force-on-force is in Hialeah on Monday evenings. Concealed carry classes are held at gun shows in Miramar, Ft. Lauderdale, and West Palm Beach.

How much ammunition do I need?

Around 200 rounds for most live-fire courses, including the Tactical Carbine course and low-light training. The exact count is listed on each course page.

Can minors take a class?

Minors can train with a parent or legal guardian present. Call 786-314-0471 to discuss your situation before registering.

Do you offer private or group classes?
What is force-on-force training?

Scenario training against a live opponent using training firearms and protective gear instead of paper targets. It runs Mondays 7:00 PM – 10:00 PM in Hialeah, starts at $60, and includes face and chest protection, a training firearm, CO2, and unlimited ammunition. Read what force-on-force training actually is.

Safety & Suitability

Is it safe for a complete beginner?

Yes. Safety rules are enforced constantly, every beginner is on the line with an instructor beside them, and anyone who cannot follow the safety rules does not stay on the line. That standard is what makes the range safe for everyone on it.

I am nervous about guns. Is that a problem?

No — it is a reasonable response and it usually makes for a careful student. If you would rather not learn in front of a group, private instruction removes the audience entirely.

Do you have classes for women?

Yes. Our ladies-only training is a supportive environment for women learning safe gun handling and defensive pistol skills.

What if I have a physical limitation?

Tell us when you book. Technique gets adapted to the student rather than the other way around, and private instruction is often the best format for this.

Still Have a Question?

Call, text, or WhatsApp. You will get an actual instructor, not a call center.
