Why Kendall Students Take This Course

Kendall students have a longer run north for this one, and it is still the training we push hardest. Live-fire range work builds the mechanics; this is where you find out whether you can make a decision while someone is actively working against you. Nothing on a static range answers that question.

Kendall is the closest major community to our Homestead range — a straight run south on the Turnpike or US-1 — which makes it the easiest place in the county to actually get live-fire training done.

It is also largely families and long-term residents, and the questions we hear from Kendall are consistent: someone wants to protect the house, there are kids in it, and usually only one adult has ever handled a firearm.

What the Course Covers

  • Scenario runs against a live, thinking opponent
  • Using cover — the thing range training never teaches
  • Decision-making under genuine stress
  • Verbal commands and de-escalation
  • Working with a partner without muzzling each other
  • Recognising situations with no shooting solution at all
  • A full debrief after every run — where most of the learning happens
